What are “Foils” and “Laminate Foils”, and are they recyclable?

0

Many products contain aluminum and other types of metal foils. The most obvious example is plain old “aluminum foil”, plus all of the “disposable” containers (roasting pans, etc) made for kitchen use. Laminate Foils are used in insulation, building, and decorating trades. They contain aluminum which is bonded to other products (corrugated paper, plastic, foam) to provide insulation and weather tightness. Historically, these laminate products were difficult to recycle, but current technology allows us to recycle any laminate product which contains 25 percent aluminum or non-ferrous metal.
