What are Flounder Beds?
A Flounder Bed is like an animal track. For example, when you see a deer track in the woods. You can usually tell many characteristics about the deer without actually seeing which deer made the track. You can determine the size, and based upon the freshness of the track you can tell how long it has been since the deer passed through the area. Also, a track can yield the direction in which the deer was traveling. A lot of information can also be determined from flounder beds. Certainly, the size of the bed will tell you the size of the fish. The more details you can see in the outline of the bed will tell you how long it has been since the flounder was in the area. And, by knowing that flounder will face into the current to feed, you can tell on which tide the fish had made the bed. Learning to read Beds will help you locate flounder.
