What are field categories?
Field categories are used to characterize the purpose, intent, and overall focus of a core program and to distinguish the specific fields in behavioral health that the core program reflects and serves. A description of each field category appears in Section 3 of the Behavioral Health Standards Manual. If these descriptions do not answer your questions, call CARF and speak to a research specialist in the Behavioral Health customer service unit. Please contact us if you have other questions preparing for accreditation or the survey process.
