Farmington has a year round even/odd schedule for lawn, garden and landscape sprinkling. Furthermore, sprinkling is not allowed between noon and 6:00 pm everyday, even if it is your day to water. For more information, see Watering Policy. Temporary exemption to water use restrictions can be approved with a water permit. These permits are issued for new sod and seed at City Hall during business hours and at the Maintenance Facility from 8:00 am – Noon. Water Permit Application We need to be sure that there is enough water for an emergency such as a fire or prolonged power outage. If we conserve water, the City can keep water fees and taxes lower by not having to dig wells and build water towers. We want our residents to be environmentally aware and to conserve water for future generations. We want to make water conservation a year round habit. Residents won’t have to remember start and end dates for this law.
