What are exemptions and how does it apply to my personal information?
The guiding principle of the records law is that every public record is subject to disclosure unless it is specifically exempted. However, most exemptions do not prohibit disclosure; they merely exempt the public body from the law’s mandate to disclose public records. Based upon the four questions contained in the MCSO Privacy Disclosure form, Sheriff Skipper will continue to work diligently to have these reasons granted as exemptions from disclosure.
