What are examples of some test conditions for damp heat testing?
For hermetic packages in a central office environment, the test conditions are 75°C/90%RH for 100 hr and 500 hr or 85°C/85%RH for 100 hr and 500 hr. For hermetic packages in a remote terminal and uncontrolled environment, the test conditions are 75°C/90%RH for 500 hr and 1000 hr or 85°C/85%RH for 500 hr and 1000 hr. For non-hermetic packages in a central office environment, the test conditions are 75°C/90%RH for 500 hr and 2000 hr or 85°C/85%RH for 500 hr and 2000 hr. For non-hermetic packages in a remote terminal and uncontrolled environment, 75°C/90%RH for 2000 hr and 5000 hr or 85°C/85%RH for 2000 hr and 5000 hr. Following exposure, changes in device properties due to shifts in physical (delamination and creep) and optical properties (light output, refractive index, intrinsic loss) are tested.
