What are examples of Online Storage Services that I can use with S3QL?
Most S3QL users are storing their data on Amazon S3. Amazon S3 gives very strong guarantees for the persistence and availability of the stored data (99.999999999% durability and 99.99% availability). For users who do not need quite so strong guarantees, there is a also slightly cheaper option called Reduced Redundancy Storage (RRS). On the other end of the spectrum you can also use S3QL to store data with web hosting providers like Dreamhost which often offer unlimited space. In this case you should keep in mind that most of these companies reserve the right to cancel your contract at anytime if they consider your account to use an “unreasonable amount” of space. Solutions that lie somewhere in between these two extremes are the “Online Hard Disks” that are offered by e.g. GoDaddy, OneLineStorageSolution or Strato (German). If you are looking at such offers, you should make sure that you can access the data via FTP or SFTP and not just with a proprietary client program.
