What are Evening Speakers?
During the summer, every other week for about one hour each time, representatives from local non-profits and others engaged in peacebuilding activities come to the house to discuss the interesting and important work that they do. These frank and informal conversations offer a unique opportunity to gain deeper knowledge of a variety of issues including homelessness, education, low-income employment, neighborhood empowerment, and the environment. We often ask students to recommend speakers and/or issues they would like to learn more about in a relaxed setting. During the semester these speakers are part of regularly scheduled class time.
