What are ethical standards for paraprofessionals?
In your work as a paraprofessional, you may face situations where your own interests, a student’s interest or the school’s interests may conflict. Understanding and practicing ethical standards will help you to: • become aware of the correct course of action with regard to a variety of perspectives other than just your own, • consider the ethical implications of the decisions that you make, and • consider the potential impact on students and other school staff of those decisions.
