What are Enterprise Skills?
Enterprise skills include: the ability to be creative and generate new ideas, and develop viable business or research bids from these ideas; Idea generation & development; developing commercial awareness within and outside your studies; understanding how to market, promote and raise finance for new ventures; understanding the value of using a network to help get an idea off the ground or break a deal, and how to crystallise your ideas into a business plan which communicates your venture. Personal skills developed through these processes include raising your self awareness; planning and organising skills; communication and team working skills as well as improving your commercial acumen. ‘Enterprise’ does not have to be focussed solely on starting businesses, or purely motivated by profit, successful charities and social enterprises make tremendous benefits in the community by returning profits into the community.
