English conventions are the standards that we follow when writing. They come under 5 categories (sentence formation, capitalization, usage, punctuation, and spelling.)In the spelling dictation tests 4 categories are evaluated (capitalization, usage, punctuation, and spelling.) Sentence formation is not because I am the one creating the sentences. Each of the dictation sentences has a possible convention score of 4. One for each of the categories.
