What are enamels and enameling?
Enameling is the ancient art of applying colored vitreous enamels (glass or crystal) to metal resulting in beautifully decorative objects. The process involves many detailed steps and many firings in a kiln at an average temperature of 1500 degrees fahrenheit. The metals that I use are pure gold and pure silver as they fire ‘cleaner’ than any alloys and have beautiful natural color. The enamels may be opaque, or brilliantly transparent.
