What are Ellagitannins?
Ellagitannins are polyphenols which hydrolyze into ellagic acid when ingested. In order to achieve the highest bioavailability of ellagic acid, the Youth Juice production conditions were optimized in a way to facilitate enzymatic and acid hydrolysis of ellagitannins (which are too large to be absorbed into the circulatory system) to generate ellagic acid which can be readily absorbed into the blood stream. The conversion of naturally found ellagitannins into ellagic acid and the bioavailability of ellagic acid were further strengthened by combining ellagic acid with berry puree rich with phenolics and other phytochemicals.
