What are eligible Parking and Transit FSA Expenses?
A. For parking and mass transit expenses to qualify, they must be incurred solely by the employee in order for the employee to be able to work. Shared commuting expenses (i.e. carpooling gas money) are not permitted. Transit Expenses may not exceed $230 per month. Qualified transit expenses include: • Transportation in a commuter highway vehicle; such as a van, seating at least six passengers. • Transit Passes; such as tokens, vouchers, and passes for mass transit, including bus, rail, and ferry. • If a local transit plan is available to the employer, transit passes must be purchased through salary deduction and are not available as a reimbursement. • Tolls and EZ passes are excluded.
