I should note that most importantly, you should find songs in genres you already like, or songs you are already familiar with to play along with… that way you will enjoy practicing, and will be more likely to stick with it. I am a blues junkie, and so thats all i know to recommend, if you have some other genre in mind you might start a new question which is more specific.
