What are early decision and early assurance programs?

0

Many health professions schools participate in Early Decision Programs, where the pre-med or allied health student files an application to only one school from which they desire an early decision. These applications are due from mid-June to mid-August, with the applicant being notified by the first of October. During this waiting time, the applicant may not apply to any other health professions schools. If the applicant is accepted into the Early Decisions Program, s/he must accept this program and apply to no other schools. If not accepted, the applicant is free to apply to any other health professions school. If you are a well-qualified candidate who has a preference for a particular school, the Early Decision Program can be an advantage.
