What are e-mail attachments and how do I download or send them?
Attachments are large files that are usually too big or complex to be transmitted in the body of an e-mail message. Instead, they are broken up into little bits of code, making it easier for your modem to send/receive them. When they arrive at their destination, the code is put back together so that the file is visible in its original format. Standard e-mail programs like Netscape Mail, Microsoft Internet Mail and Eudora Lite use MIME to encode attachments. Caution: Most e-mail programs cannot handle e-mails and/or attachments much larger than 200k. In fact, we recommend that you keep your e-mails under 100k each. If you regularly transfer large files, don’t send them via e-mail (that will cause problems with our e-mail server, tying up your mail and possibly others’ mail, too.)
