What are dressable grinding wheels?
Dressable grinding wheels are made from the latest ceramic abrasive. Within the machine cycle the wheel shape is reformed at regular intervals using a special dressing disc. This automatic dressing process restores the wheel shape and exposes new abrasive cutting edges, therefore the cutting characteristics of the grinding wheel remain exactly the same throughout its life. Additionally, dressable grinding wheels offer a huge cost saving over CBN or Borozon plated grinding wheels. They are cheaper, last longer and can be quickly restored in the event of ‘pick up’ or over cutting.
