Huntington’s disease). For example, let’s say a flower can be either red or blue. To determine which allele in dominant, you would cross a homozygous red to a homozygous blue. If all of the offspring are red, you know that red is dominant to blue. The genotype of the offspring is Aa, where A= red and a= blue. Even though both alleles are present, the flower still appears red. Therefore, red is dominant to blue. There are many examples of this in nature. Mendel’s experiments with pea plants demonstrate various dominant/recessive traits, so that would be worth looking up. I would recommend focusing on plants, because most human traits like eye color and hair color are the result of several genes.
