What are District 129s main sources of revenue?
District 129 revenues come from only three sources: local, state and federal funding. The bulk of the funding (55.9%) comes from local sources. This includes residential, commercial, and industrial real estate taxes, along with other local revenues such as student fees and rental fees. (Whether you own a home, rent your home, or own a business, in some fashion you are supporting schools with your taxes.) State funding provides 36.3 percent of the District budget. Federal funding makes up about 7.8 percent.
