What are different types of mathematics we use in newspapers?

Hey Josiah – here’s the things to look for. Most newspapers have a crossword/games page with Sudoku puzzles and maths in – good start. Most have a bar code on that scanners read with the pricing in – lots of maths in that. All of them have page numbers and section numbers which are controlled by a program that needs to do the maths to match the pages properly, (called “pairing” the pages). There should be a page with the weather on, which might have a centigrade/fahrenheit conversion – there will definitely be a page for currency conversion in there, with market prices for shares from around the world – loads of maths in the shares pages too, lots and lots. Then there will be advertising pages with price comparisons, discounts and percentages. Tons of stuff! Get busy. Which country are you in? I’d pick a big weekend newspaper with financial stuff in if I were you – that should make it really easy.
