What are different forms of mental retardation?
The form of mental retardation that is most common is the mildest condition. People with this form of mental retardation can usually learn reading, writing, and math skills up to the sixth grade level. While they’re adults they may have jobs, and live on there own. The next form of mental retardation is the moderate form. Children with moderate retardation will be able to learn some basic reading and writing skills. As adults they usually require some sort of supervision. The final form of mental retardation is the severe form. Children with severe mental retardation will not be able to read or write. They will be able to learn self-help skills and routines. They will require supervision in there living environment.
