The next form of mental retardation is the moderate form. Children with moderate retardation will be able to learn some basic reading and writing skills. As adults they usually require some sort of supervision. The final form of mental retardation is the severe form. Children with severe mental retardation will not be able to read or write. They will be able to learn self-help skills and routines. They will require supervision in there living environment.
