What are Data Dictionary “semantics” and why are they so important?
Semantics is the science of “meaning”. In a data dictionary, each Data Element represents a general concept must have a formal english definition that gives the data meaning. The exact meaning of a word can be determined by people using the context of a conversation. But computers need precise definitions.
