What are Cysts of the ovaries?
Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled pockets in or on the surface of ovaries. Most ovarian cysts are associated with little or no pain except in the pelvic area sometimes. Ovarian cysts are often associated with hormonal disturbances and irregular menstrual period. Ovarian cysts produce serious symptoms if they rupture. Some types of ovarian cysts may signal a more significant problem. Ovarian cysts can sometimes become cancerous.
