What are CVA’s four basic requirements?
Written Student Learning Plan (WSLP) – The WSLP is an annual requirement for all enrolled students. It is written to guide student learning goals and performance objectives for the school year. The plan is developed by a Highly Qualified CVA teacher and customized in consultation with each student’s parent or guardian.Weekly Student/Teacher Contact – Students and their CVA teachers interact at least once a week for 36 designated weeks each school year. This contact may be accomplished by face-to-face meetings or classes, phone calls or by electronic means.Monthly Review – An in-depth monthly review is used to ensure student progress on each student’s WSLP. The CVA teacher, often with input from parents or guardians, review each area of the WSLP and assistance is provided to determine the most effective methods to reach each student’s educational goals.
