What Are Custom-Fit Audio Monitors?
Sometimes referred to as “in ear monitors,” or IEMs, Custom-Fit Audio Monitors were originally designed to protect the hearing of musicians who were exposing themselves to dangerously high SPLs from the wedge shaped speakers (stage monitors) at the foot of the performance platform. By delivering the monitor “sound mix” to Custom-Fit Audio Monitors instead of through the stage monitors, the musician can listen at a lower, safer level.
