Zeolites have been used for size exclusion chromatography for decades now and continue to be a standard for separation techniques. Nature uses these porous materials as filters and biological processing sites which mankind has emulated in several applications. Recently pursued, specific zeolites are being applied towards agricultural time released fertilizers or as a source of water.
