What Are County/District Assemblies?

0

Between March 26 and April 15, 2010, parties will hold their county assemblies. These meetings designate candidates who will represent the party in the state primary election which will be held on August 10, 2010. The assemblies also elect delegates to the congressional district assemblies and the state assembly. Congressional district assemblies elect delegates who will attend national conventions, and they nominate candidates for Congress, the Colorado Legislature, the State Board of Education, the Board of Regents, and District Attorneys. The date for district assemblies is chosen by the chair person of each district committee. State conventions (or assemblies) must be held by June 1, 2010.
