What are coral reefs made of? Where are they found?
Coral reefs are thought to be sponge-like clusters of sharp rock. When, actually, the colony of coral is divided into several thousands of different creatures known as POLYPS. Each individual coral head is a tiny colony of polyps. Coral reefs are found in tropical waters on the coastlines of mountain ranges, which are projecting from an island out into the ocean. The largest coral colony is located just off the coast of southern Australia. A closer look at the natural causes of coral depletion: The depletion of coral reefs is a result of many different factors. There are numerous amounts of human induced causes such as motors from boats, chemical dumping, and anchors dropping on the reefs. However, the natural causes of coral depletion are overlooked, while their damages is just as bad if not worse because it is unstoppable. The main problem is our very own sun. The rays bleach the coral to the color of death; once humans see coral is dead, they clear it away so that more can grow. The
