What are copyrights? Don we own the copyright to photographs of us?
As photographers and citizens of the United States, we are automatically granted the copyright to our photographs. This means that we own the copyright to any photograph we take. You are not automatically granted the copyright of the photographs we take of you unless we grant you th explicit permission to use our photographs. That means that you cannot take the photographs that you receive from us and print them or use them online or enter them into competitions without our permission. Don’t panic – we are giving you images on CD with a limited usage license. The usage license we give to you is based upon the services you purchase from us; the usage license we provide with our wedding packages is different from that which we provide with our standard photography sessions.
