What are common quotes that parents/family usually say to their kids?
I heard these growing up all of the time from parents and grandparents. A penny saved is a penny earned. Don’t cry over spilled milk. Waste not, want not. If conceit was consumption, you’d be consumed. Don’t run with that, you’ll poke your eye out. Don’t play with that, you’ll poke somebody’s eye out. Finish your plate, think of all the starving kids in (name of country). You keep making those faces, your face is going to freeze that way. Beggars can’t be choosers. Little pitchers have big ears.
