1. Electrolytic zinc – ideal for wire components. Cosmetic and durable. 2. Enamel paint – common for large, non-collapsible components. Protects reasonably at low cost. 3. Hot dip galvanize – ideal for rigid, non-cosmetic components. Very durable. 4. Powder coat – ideal for cosmetic components. Protects reasonably, but not made to withstand abuse. 5. Plastisol – ideal for small components used to hold and protect parts. Tough yet non-abrasive.
