WHAT ARE COLOR CHANGE CHARGES AND RE-RUN CHARGES?

0

When a project is set-up, it takes time to align the artwork and load that screen with ink. When we have to change colors in that screen, it is a process to clean the first ink out and make it clean enough to accommodate the new color. Screen ink is very easy to mix with other colors. A color change charge will apply when a screen has to be cleaned out to change the color on a job in midstream. A re-run charge will apply when a job has the screens and artwork already in the system and a customer comes back to order more shirts or garments with the same print on them. If a customer comes back or orders more shirts while the job is still set on the press, there will be no re-run charge. If a few shirts need to be re-ordered a week after the job is done and taken down from the press, there must be a re-run charge because it takes time to re-set the screen and re-load the ink into it. A year later, it is a less expensive prospect for a customer to pay a re-run charge on a six color project
