What are Coliforms?
If you are thinking about those plastic playthings you or your children used to have, youd be wrong. Those were COLORforms! Coliforms are a group of bacteria. They are used to determine the sanitary quality of food and water and serve as an indicator of water contamination. When your well or spring was created, it was designed to keep contamination out. If coliforms are detected in your drinking water, it means that something has gotten into your well or spring that is not supposed to be there.
