What are Challenge Areas, and how will they be addressed?
Unfortunately, in some “Challenge Areas” noted by their darker color on the Wireless Minneapolis Build Out Schedule & Coverage Map, service is not yet available. In some cases there is no City of Minneapolis pole on which to hang a radio. In other cases the poles, generally decorative poles, are not sturdy enough to support the weight of the radio. The City of Minneapolis is installing new poles to enable full wireless coverage throughout the City. Temporary wood poles are being installed where decorative poles must be special ordered.
