What are Certificate Programs?
Continuing Studies offers short term certificate programs in visual art and design. Each program gives you the skills, insights, and familiarity with concept development necessary to meet the challenges of further study or to transfer the knowledge and skills acquired to your career. The certificate programs have been designed to help you: • acquire knowledge, skills, understanding and experience in visual art, design or media processes and practices; • refine and further develop your visual literacy; • appreciate the ideas and intentions of contemporary art and design, and their relationships to contemporary society; • develop creative thinking and modes of expression and communication; • develop critical thinking skills in the concepts and processes involved in creating two- and/or three-dimensional works; • build a portfolio of work; • receive a credential attesting to the successful completion of a program of study.
