What are CDL Driver Applicant Requirements?
• The applicant must be at least 18 years old. • If desiring interstate employment, the applicant must be at least 21 years old. • All truck school applicants must have a valid driver’s license in their possession at the time of enrollment. • All truck driver training school applicants must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen before attending truck school training. • All trucking school applicants must be drug-free and agree to drug testing. • All school applicants must be able to read, write, speak, and understand highway traffic signs and signals, to converse with the general public, to respond to official inquiries, and to make legible entries on truck reports and records.
