What are causes for going over established budgets?
Although our budgets are very accurate and rely upon our 18 years of experience, things happen. But we pride ourselves in being very communicative about any cost overruns. These can be caused by specification changes (“I want a Jacuzzi instead of a normal tub”) by the client or architect or unforeseen conditions (“There is a 40 ton boulder where you want to dig your basement”). We advise setting aside at least 10% of the estimated total cost as a contingency sum.
