What are Campcasters Values and Operating Philosophy?

We are strong advocates of open source software both for legal and financial reasons, and we’ve had pretty good experience so far with Ubuntu Linux, which tends to be more user-friendly than Windows XP. One of the things we really like about Ubuntu Linux is that not only is the operating system free, but all the software installed on it is free too. There’s a very elegant mechanism for keeping all of the software installed up-to-date – it works sort of like Windows Update, where it alerts you to the fact that there is new software available to download and install. Plus with Linux, you don’t get viruses, which is very nice indeed in a radio station environment where you really depend on the PC to broadcast.
