Braces are either made of stainless steel (metal type) or a plastic/ceramic (clear braces). No, the metal ones do not rust! Orthodontist call braces “brackets”. The “color” is not actually the braces themselves, but little round rubber ties or “ligatures” that hold the wire onto the braces.
