What are Boolean search functions and how do I use them in my search?
If you use the word AND between words, the search will look for instances in which all of those words appear. If you use the word OR between words, the search will look for instances in which any of those words appear. You may also use NOT to exclude words from appearing in your search. Remember, if you want to search on a phrase that you want to contain the words and, or, or not, be sure to enclose the phrase in quotation marks. For example, search on the phrase “trick or treat” rather than searching for instances where either the word trick OR the word treat appears.
