What are “Board, Standing , Ad Hoc and Administrative committees”?
Board Committees are those in which the Trustees meet in full sessionthe Information Committee of the Whole, the Committee of the Whole and the regular Board meetings. The Information Committee of the Whole meets the first Tuesday of each month; the Committee of the Whole meets the second Tuesday, and the regular Board meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of the month. All meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. Standing Committees are appointed each December by Board motion and are established to address ongoing issues specific to their individual mandates. Ad hoc Committees are established to respond to specific issues on recommendation by the Chairs Committee. They have a defined task and time line for completion. Administrative Committees are co-ordinated by the Boards Senior Administration to pursue system initiatives. Trustee representatives are selected to sit on these committees as a resource.
