What are Bluetooth wireless earphone Profiles and why are they important to me?
Profiles are what drive the communication between two different devices. The devices must have the same profile in order to communicate. Like the drivers in computers, Profiles are software built into the device enabling communication. Bluetooth wireless earphones create the connection used by Profiles to communicate with each other. If the devices do not have the same profile, they are unable to communicate. Profiles are defined by use case. For example, there is a hands-free profile (HFP) which is found in most mobile phones and headsets to facilitate the hands-free experience. With the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP), you can stream music from your PC, home stereo or MP3 player with your Bluetooth phone.
