What Are Bitmaps And Vectors?
Bitmaps and Vectors are two types of techniques for storing and processing computer images. A bitmap image has pixels where computer files get stored. A tiny dot has 12 pixels, but are generally are shown for clarity. The vector image is created by joining lines with the help of control points. In a scanned image, the output is bitmap where as in a flash software image, vector graphic is extensively used. Bitmap file format like jpeg can be read by any software which is not similar in the case of vector images. Vector images can be animated due to the facility of control points and the file size is also smaller for convenient internet usage. Flash is vector based software which helps in the creation of animated figures. The control points help in drawing lines which are mathematically calculated in the software.
