What are Biologic Drugs?
Biologics are a class of drug derived from living sources such as animals, microorganisms and humans. They are antibodys or dirivitives directed specifically at the attacking triggers for inflammation by bonding to the TNF factor (tumor necrosis) cells. Patients taking Biologics should be aware of the new FDA black label warning for a hard to diagnose fungal infection called histoplasmosis.
