What are best hiking shoes for the West Coast Trail (WCT) in July?

I am fairly inexperienced hiker and am hiking the WCT in July. I would appreciate recommendations re suitable hiking boots. I have a pair of Salomon (XA Pro 3d Ultra) but a friend has suggested that I need more ankle support. I don’t want to wear anything too constraining and heavy.
