What are benefits of the CLMA PAC?
The CLMA PAC enhances CLMA’s presence and visibility in Washington, D.C. and gives CLMA a stronger voice in the legislative process by pooling the political contributions and voices of numerous association members. The CLMA PAC provides CLMA PAC members with opportunities to meet with Members of Congress and state their case on key issues, which helps clinical laboratories gain recognition on Capitol Hill. Those who participate in political events and support candidates have many more opportunities to get to know those candidates. While such participation does not guarantee a positive outcome, it does insure our issues are clearly heard and understood. CLMA’s PAC is also critical if CLMA is to effectively oppose candidates who support legislative issues it does not, such as competitive bidding to determine payment for clinical laboratory services and freezing the Consumer Price Index (CPI) updates.
