What are Bees and Wasps?

0

Bees and wasps belong to a very large order of insects known as hymenoptera. There are over 60,000 representative species recorded world wide but to make classification easier they can generally be split into three main groups: bees, wasps and ants. They follow a complete metamorphosis with distinct egg, larval, pupal and adult stages. Many of the different species have very highly developed social structures with infertile females as workers, fertile females as queens and fertile males appearing at certain stages in the colonies development.
