What are bathroom facilities like in Morocco?
For bathrooms in general in Morocco, there are two types: European style and Arabic style. A European style bathroom in Morocco will be much like the bathroom in your house at home; sink, bathtub and/or shower, and a “toilet”. However, an Arabic bathroom CAN be much different. You will certainly have the sink and at least, the shower, although the shower may or may not have a shower curtain. The biggest difference will be the “toilet”. Arabic toilets are basically a small “sink” which is set into the floor with a “raised” area for each foot. How it is used is that you “squat” over it and do your business and then to flush it, if the home has running water, there is usually a water tap in the wall with a small bucket. Why is it this way?
