What are Authorization Holds?
An Authorization Hold (also card preauthorization) is a practice within the banking industry of authorizing electronic transactions done with a debit card or credit card. This is when the bank will make the funds unavailable either until the merchant (which is Said with Charm) clears the transaction or the hold “falls off”. When you get an ERROR during checkout and the order does not complete showing as Declined, please DO NOT keep trying because you will get multiple Authorization Holds. More than likely, you got an ERROR due to communication failure or because your billing information did not match what the bank verified. Your first name, last name and billing address MUST match exactly. When this happens, Said with Charm WILL NOT accept/approve your order thus never clearing the transaction due to a potential fraudelent transaction.
